(Painting "Wyoming Girl" by Robert Duncan)This year for our annual November getaway, Lisa and I accidentally stumbled into the 14th Annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering & Buckaroo Fair 2008. We got to ride the "Cowboy Poetry Express", a two-hour train ride being entertained by cowboy poets, singers and performers from around the country. The Buckaroo fair included all the cowboy gear and outfitting that anyone could possible need or want. The vittles from the famous Eddie Deen BBQ were great, too. Lisa picked up some cool kitchen pottery at the Mountain Man Trader's Camp. I've never seen so many cowboys and cowgirls all in one place in all my life. It was a whole lot of fun with some fantastic cowboy entertainment! Needless to say, our getaway as very successful and one we'll remember forever more. We picked up a few CDs of cowboy music and poetry including a few autographed CDs from the Bar-J Wranglers who were one of the many performers at the gathering.
