BAGPIPES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So last week i entered a chanter competition and won it! this was just after so we didn't have our results yet. we all look happy but really we were about to pee our pants. i mean kilts. anyway, we were really nervous.

After i won, i decided to take up drums. i'm even wearing my medal in this picture, isn't it dashing
after a very long day the judges did a seminar. not that any of you non-pipers would care but i found it fascinating!

Cowboy Poetry Gathering & Buckaroo Fair 2008

(Painting "Wyoming Girl" by Robert Duncan)

This year for our annual November getaway, Lisa and I accidentally stumbled into the 14th Annual Cowboy Poetry Gathering & Buckaroo Fair 2008. We got to ride the "Cowboy Poetry Express", a two-hour train ride being entertained by cowboy poets, singers and performers from around the country. The Buckaroo fair included all the cowboy gear and outfitting that anyone could possible need or want. The vittles from the famous Eddie Deen BBQ were great, too. Lisa picked up some cool kitchen pottery at the Mountain Man Trader's Camp. I've never seen so many cowboys and cowgirls all in one place in all my life. It was a whole lot of fun with some fantastic cowboy entertainment! Needless to say, our getaway as very successful and one we'll remember forever more. We picked up a few CDs of cowboy music and poetry including a few autographed CDs from the Bar-J Wranglers who were one of the many performers at the gathering.
Famous rope trick artist Bennie Martinez who followed in the footsteps of Roy Rogers.
Singer/Songwriter, Announcer and DJ Richard Lee Cody singing songs from his new CD.

Lisa just before boarding the "Cowboy Poetry Express".
Prickly Pair performing on the "Cowboy Poetry Express".

Juni Fisher performing on the "Cowboy Poetry Express".

Cowboy poet Bruce Jensen reciting the poem "Hawk and Blue".

Happy trails now, ya all!

Halloween at the Zoo

Princess Jennifer, Goofball Daddy and Black Cat Summer ready to go out Trick or Treating. Of course the folks in the neighborhood who know me were rather surprised since most of them don't know my goofball side.
